Shackling a bird

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATE WAYS TO PREVENT BIRDS FROM FLYING OFF, BESIDES PULLING THEIR FLIGHT FEATHERS FROM THEIR WINGS? ALSO WOULD IT BE ALLRIGHT TO WRAP VELCO TAPE AROUND THE BIRD'S BODY, WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR DOG ON A CHECK CORD, SO THAT YOU CAN HIDE THE BIRD FROM THE DOG TO INCREASE HIS SENSE OF SCENTING BIRD'S?

Instead, of tape, try panty hose. Just cut off a leg and stick the bird in it. For smaller birds, use the area of the pantyhose for the feet. For larger birds, use the thigh area.

Use the "tights" type of panty hose as the "sheer" kind can easily rip under a birds feet. Tube socks also work well.
